David Grusch’s UFOlogy Connection

If you’re like me, you watched July 26’s Congressional hearing on UAP / UFO with great interest. Without a doubt, the featured attraction was David Grusch, the former intelligence official who has come forward as a whistle-blower of sorts disclosing the existence of a beyond top-secret program to recover and reverse engineer UFOs / UAPs. Such claims are not new to the UFO world at all, so why is Grusch’s testimony considered such a pivotal moment? Well, assuming he ever gets into an SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility), which the hearing was not provided, he has promised to name names as well as provide the location of actual UFO’s / UAP’s.

Now, many people have been critical of Grusch’s second hand involvement when it comes to these alleged programs. Grusch has no first hand exposure to the UFO’s and alien bodies, but has learned of their existence through his own investigation. The importance of his testimony is most certainly tied to who he got his information from. As I said, the general idea of a crash retrieval and reverse engineering program is an old old allegation in the UFO culture and plenty of ‘witnesses’ have come forward already.

Herein lay the problem. Grusch is as good as his sources, and there is reason to believe his sources may not be that great at all. You see Grusch has over the years sought the council of divisive UFO Documentarian Jeremy Corbell and his mentor George Knapp. While Knapp less so, Corbell has been criticized plenty by folks inside and outside the UFO community. He is largely regarded as a damaging figure by continuing to tout controversial UFO figure Bob Lazar, as well as having an admitted friendship with the nefarious Richard Doty. How deeply is Grusch connected to Corbell? Listen to Corbell and Knapp discuss their history with Grusch on this episode of Weaponized, during which Corbell actually calls Grusch on the phone, as if to show off his access to the man.

So suffice to say, their connection with Grusch runs deep – and that’s a problem. Both men are aligned with various questionable figures in the UFO world. What if Doty and Lazar are among the witnesses Grusch interviewed in his ‘Investigation’? Given the deep connection between Grusch and Corbell, it’s all but guaranteed.

The bottom line is, yes Grusch’s appearance before Congress was essentially a good moment when it comes to the prospect of disclosure. Congress will no doubt continue to dig, and eventually may even get SCIF access to Grusch to get the names and locations he offered. Hopefully, this leads to people with first hand knowledge landing in a hot seat before the people of the world. But, and it’s a very big but, given Grusch’s ties to the world of UFOlogy, it is important to temper your expectations. His information could very well turn out to be just more of what we’ve already heard.

That’s a lot of speculation. Until Grusch actually says he consulted with Lazar and Doty, I’m withholding judgement.
